I know this isn’t exactly unique or new, but as a minister, I feel that
this is one of the best things you can do to personalize your ceremony
for your family and friends. You may cry and need tissues and
bodily fluids may or may not come out of your nose. However, guests
love hearing these and seeing the passion-filled emotions fly. Emotions
are what makes a wedding ceremony memorable. Photographers eat
it up, too. It lets your guests learn something about you as a couple
and allows you both to reach into your past and to share memories
you may have forgotten. It will inspire everyone to join in on the
emotions and set the tone for the wedding you always dreamed
from a very young age.
Have A Good Friend O Family Member Recite A Poem Or
A Song During Your Ceremony
Whether you’re having a religious ceremony (or even if you are), there
is no greater honor for family or friends than to be involved in your wedding ceremony. This is a great way to involve family and friends
and have an important reading during the ceremony.
Ring Warming
This is a very intimate and personal act. It’s when the rings are passed around and nice thoughts are delivered to the couple through their
guests. This is usually done when the guests list is less than 30 people. Because of time, if your list is greater than 30 you can chose to only
pass the rings to the wedding party and family.
Groom Having A Grand Entrance Into The Ceremony
Some religious ceremonies already include this, such as with Jewish ceremonies. Here the groom is escorted in with both of his parents.
This is a great idea because to many times the groom is put on the
back burner at times and they deserve recognition as well.
Having the Groom walk down the isle with his Mom is a very nice
entrance and gives the Groom & his Mom center stage for a moment.
Bring Your Dog
This is huge for today's couples who have maybe one or two puppy kids. You can include them by being a small part of our wedding.
Many clients feel their dogs are like there family and what to include
their pups on their special day. If you’re worried about them getting
loose and wreaking havoc, there are companies out there such as
Fairytail Planning that will actually do this for you and take them
home and keep them safe until you return.
Just Make It Your Own
Whatever you decide, just make your wedding in some way personal
and unique to the both of you. Remember that you are not required
to partake in any traditions that mean nothing to you.
After all there are no do overs and this is YOUR wedding! Try to be
brave and creative and think of options that will be more meaningful
to you and your guests. Brainstorm things you love as a couple,
your hobbies, dreams, what gets you excited, and for sure the
ideas will flow once you start thinking together.
